Projects

POSC Caesar (PCA) runs or participates in research and joint industry projects that develop reference data and semantic technology. Usually PCA requires to be the owner of IPR to all reference data developed in these projects so they can easily be made available for the global industry through PCA's Reference Data Services (RDS). Furthermore, PCA pro-actively works for that other organizations shall adopt these reference data like ISO, W3C, Energistics, OASIS, MIMOSA, FIATECH and so on, into their products and services.

Projects

READI (REquirement Asset Digital lifecycle Information)
Today owners, operators, EPCI contractors and suppliers in the oil and gas industry spend massive amounts of expert man hours to specify, implement and verify requirements versus design, yet repeatedly resulting in quality deviations in project execution and operation. The Joint Industry Project (JIP) READI (REquirement Asset Digital lifecycle Information) addresses this by establishing a platform for automated digital verification of requirements and design in the oil and gas industry, including governance and validation.
ILAP - Integrated Lifecycle Asset Planning
ILAP was the project to develop a common planning standard (for the oil and gas industry) for exchanging and sharing of planning data across all phases of an organizations’ assets between relevant stakeholders. ILAP improves information quality and enables high quality planning (HQP). HQP is a decision support process enabling managers of assets, projects and operations to set direction, objectives and scope, and successfully manage the execution of activities in a way that ensures continuously enhanced business value over the complete lifecycle of the physical asset.
JORD - Joint Operational Reference Data (2010-2014)
JORD is the project to deliver an enhanced RDS operation as a scalable and sustainable business operation. In summary, the project is in two phases. Phase 1 involves creation and consolidation of the technology-neutral resources necessary for the RDS Operation, including: core procedures & content, organization & human resources. Phase 1 also involves maintenance fixes to legacy RDS publishing and content management tools & technologies necessary to support the enhanced operation, plus the creation of a specification and invitation to bid (ITB) for upgrade to scalable and sustainable tools and technologies. Phase 2 involves the supply and implementation of the enhanced tools and technologies, and the migration of content, operational processes and procedures to those enhanced technologies.
ISO 15926 as OWL (2012-ongoing)
The current PCA system for developing reference data libraries is the Brutus database and editor, implemented using EXPRESS. This system hosts the PCA RDL. It doesn't support development of RDL's in other contexts (companies, projects), even though such development is recognized by everyone in the ISO 15926 community as unavoidable. In order to address the industry need for ISO 15926 as OWL, a new project with the following purpose is being initiated: To develop OWL2 representations of ISO 15926-2 suitable for use in the development of industrial ontologies based on the upper ontology of ISO 15926-2, using currently recognized best-practice methods of OWL ontology development.

EqHub - pre-qualified eqipment information delivery
EqHub is a single sourced technical information repository for all operators and suppliers. PCA is one of the suppliers in the project, and will make the existing ISO 15926 reference data library (ISO 15926 RDL) available for EqHub and extend it to cover the EqHub scope.
EPIM Reporting Forum (2006-ongoing)
The EPIM Reporting Forum develops standardized reports for reporting to authorities and partners on the NCS in a cost efficient way. At present the reports are the Daily Drilling Report (DDR), the Daily Production Report (DPR) and The Monthly Production report (MPR).

IDS/ADI (2008-2010)
The project shall develop product models that are independent of presentation formats and link these models to types of data sheets and Work to Work interactions.

IO in the High North (2008-2012)
Twenty-five companies from different parts in the value chain have joined forces to design, implement and demonstrate a reliable and robust ICT architecture to be used for petroleum exploration and production in remote settings, such as the Arctic.
DEPUIS (2007-2010)
DEPUIS (Design of Environmental Products Using Information Standards) is an EU co-funded research project managed by ENEA. The objective of DEPUIS was to improve the environmental friendly design of new products and services through the innovative use of new information standards.

Integrated Information Platform (2004-2008)
The Integrated Information Platform (IIP) project makes important contributions toward resolving one of the major challenges on the way towards realisation of Integrated Operations (IO); the establishment of a real-time information pipeline, based on open standards, that supports both generations of IO.
CASCADE (2002-2004)
CASCADE (Co-operation and Standards for life Cycle Assessment Data in Europe was an EU co-funded GROWTH project managed by ENEA.
